Going Natural: Hair

ingredients

It may not seem easy or cheap, but in the long run I believe I will reap the benefits of a more natural lifestyle. So, from time to time I will share my discoveries and experiments.

My new friend, Jackie, gave me a recipe for natural shampoo, rinse, and conditioner. This morning I made up a batch of the shampoo and rinse. I plan to make the leave-in conditioner as soon as I purchase a spray bottle for dispensing it.

Here is the recipe for the shampoo: After I used it this morning, I added a few drops of wintergreen essential oil for the next time – I think it will smell great.
1/4 cup castile soap (Dr. Bronner’s – I used unscented Baby Mild_
1/4 cup Aloe vera juice (I used Lakewood organic)
1/2 cup watee
1/4 tsp. glycerine (I used the NOW brand)

For the Rinse:
1 cup water
1/4 cup raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar (I used Bragg)
(I also added a few drops of Jojoba oil – optional)

For the leave in conditioner:

1/4 cup aloe
1/4 cup water
2-4 drops glycerine

If you try any of these, come back and leave a comment to let me know what you think!
