Today was a bit dreary outside, but I got a lot accomplished. Perhaps tomorrow will be a Sweet Pea Sweet Potato Day. This poem was written on PAD day two, when the prompt was to write a vegetable poem.
It’s a sweet pea sweet potato day
The sun squash blooms out of a blueberry night
No more broccoli showers
Toss out the turnips
It’s a sweet pea sweet potato day
The green beans climb to the sky
Tiptoe through the cucumbers
Laugh with the lima beans
It’s a sweet pea and sweet potato day
Friendly watermelons greet the breeze
Feel the tickle prickle of okra
Feel the soft silk of the corn
It’s a sweet pea sweet potato day
Shadows fall on the garden
Chase the rainbow chard
Sweet dreams in the soft brown earth
